Project 1: WordPress

Well, I’ve now come to the end of this assignment and I must say, of all the websites I’ve used this is my favorite. It is more of an actual webpage than a blog, which most sites are not. It’s also geared more towards those wishing to establish an actual website. The downside of this is that it is a bit harder to understand and navigate than some sites. If I had not had the tutorials at my disposal I’m not sure I could have figured out what all of the links and buttons mean. Probably the thing that confused me most was the task of setting Portfolio to Parent. I didn’t really overcome that so much as just stumble upon it, but all’s well that ends well. It might be nice to have more instruction in that part of the tutorial, perhaps something indicating where to find it.

Ultimately, I’m sure this will prove to be the easiest of assignments as those that follow will include HTML and CSS but I look forward to the challenge and the new skills. I’m glad I discovered WordPress and excited that I’ll have a place to showcase my work in this class. I can’t wait to learn more about WordPress and see what else I can do and also to find any other websites hosted by WordPress that interest me!
